Therapy for POC/LGBTQIA and PERFECTIONISTS with Demanding Careers

Therapy for POC, LGBTQ, and women in tech

You’re excelling at work, but it’s taking a toll on your well-being and personal life.

It can be hard to find a sense of wholeness and belonging, especially when you have to hide parts of yourself to fit in.

We each have privileges and ways in which we are marginalized.

You’ve persevered through hardships and had to be F*CKING extraordinary to succeed.

But navigating power dynamics across race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, economic class, and other forms of identity can be confusing and exhausting.

What’s your story?

Career-Driven; Now Re-imagining Life

You graduated from the most competitive schools and landed a great job. Sure, there are microaggressions, but it’s not going to stop you. You channel anger, sadness, and frustration into work because it gets you one step closer to your goal. Work has taken priority over your health, friendships, and relationships. But, no matter how hard you work, you still feel like you’re behind. All-nighters and working through weekends used to feel like it was all worth it. But you’re starting to wonder how you can find a life partner and have a family at this pace. You’re reaching a breaking point, and something has to change. Are you rethinking what kind of life you want? Let’s talk about what really matters to you.

Independent But Wanting Connection

You’re self-made. You were a latchkey kid and had to grow up fast. Now, you’re your own boss, and you enjoy the autonomy, but the unpredictability is stressful. You’re dedicated to your work, but you’ve almost given up on relationships. Sometimes, it feels like the world is against you. No one seems to understand. Even though you work your butt off to make sure your partner has everything they need, they still feel taken for granted. They want to talk about feelings, but it’s really uncomfortable and overwhelming. You know that the highest achievers are good with people and have emotional intelligence, but you’re skeptical about what that even means and whether it makes sense for you. It’s time to find out.

Lots of Feels & Seeking Meaning

You’re naturally empathetic and can meet people’s needs without them even having to ask. You’re a great friend and partner, but you feel under-appreciated or resentful when other people don’t reciprocate. And you feel a bit out of place at work. You are passionate about giving back to society, but everyone else is focused on results. It’s hard to talk with friends or family about how hard things are. Your parents immigrated to the U.S. They sacrificed to give you a better life. You’re thankful for the opportunities, but sometimes, it feels like you’re a foreigner in your own family. And it’s hard to understand one another across cultural and language differences. Not sure where to start? You’re in the right place.

Are you putting up a facade all day?

Being the “token minority” is so isolating.

When “no one looks like me,” it takes so much energy to code switch constantly.

You have to suppress your authentic emotions and impulses, and try to figure out and convey the appropriate responses for a “good culture fit.”

Therapy can help you find relief and thrive.

Many people have had painful experiences of being dismissed or criticized when they express valid concerns.

This causes us to put a guard up, shut down, or lash out.

But doing so damages relationships, and we feel alone with our troubles.

I strive to create an open non-judgmental space for you to express and explore what matters most to you.

Together, we can hold your experiences with compassion and deepen understanding.

You deserve to feel cared for and seen for the gift that you are to this world. Therapy for POC, LGBTQ, and women in tech

Live the life you’ve been dreaming of

  • Be you, in all your beautiful complexity.

  • Find love and connect with people who really get you.

  • Move towards healing and wholeness.

  • Build community for solidarity and allyship

  • Reclaim your power and agency, even in the face of oppression.

As a queer femme POC, I was a design and engineering consultant. And I know what it’s like to be under-represented in academia, start-ups, and the tech industry.

Instead of educating me about your work environment, we can focus on reaching your goals.

I work especially well with:

  • Designers and engineers

  • Creatives

  • Lawyers

  • Healthcare professionals

Jessica brings many gifts that help individuals at the intersection of society: a deep perspective of social issues/justice that is sensitive to the individuals involved and their environments, a refreshing cultural humility, a clear and gentle way of highlighting societal dynamics, and a subtle mind that can analyze social forces, including oppressive ones. Jessica is awesome!
